Monet Crochet Shoes

I named this shoes from the color of the yarn I made it of. But it can still be called Monet Shoes even if you will make this in different color.

I've been really so busy this summer. So many activities and so many road trips to make. I have less time updating this blog. But I still have enough time to make my crochet projects. I make them anywhere I go.  With this shoes, it has been finished a long time ago but I don't have the time to sit and write a post about this. I am happy that here I am now writing this post. And I wish everyone will love this and try this pattern as well.

Materials

  • Red Heart Super Saver Monet and Baby Pink for the flowers
  • Crochet Hook H/5.0mm
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Buttons for the flowers
  • Glue stick and glue gun for attaching the buttons to the center of the flower
Stitches Used

  • Magic Ring
  • ch - chain
  • sc - Single Crochet
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • sl st - slip stitch

Instructions

MAKE 2
Round 1.  Make a magic ring and 10 hdc into the ring. Close the ring tightly then join with a sl st in first hdc. ( 10 hdc)

Round 2. Ch 1, hdc 2 in each stitch around, join with a sl st in first hdc. (20 hdc)

Round 3. Ch 1, hdc in first st, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next*. Repeat all the way around. Join with a sl st in first hdc of the round. ( 30 hdc)

Round 4. Ch 1, 1 hdc in each stitch around. Join with a sl st in first hdc of the round ( 30 hdc)

Round 5-10, Repeat Round 4.  At the end of Round 10. Cut your yarn and weave all ends.

Round 11.  From your first stitch, count 11 stitches (including the first stitch), then attached you yarn on the 12th stitch. Then 1 hdc in each of the next 22 stitches. Ch 1 and turn.

Round 12.  Hdc in first stitch and on each 21 stitches. Ch 1 and turn. (22 hdc)

Round 13-25, Repeat Round 12.

Round 26. Hdc in first stitch and on each 10 stitches Ch1. (11 hdc)

Do not break yarn yet, join both sides of the shoes ( the 11 hdc you just worked  and the other 11 stitches on the other side) Join them both to close the heel of the shoes. Join by slip stitching the back loops only together.

Round 27.  Do not break yarn still, ch 1 then sc each stitches around the opening of your shoes to give it a smooth finished. Then join with a sl st on the first sc of the round. Break yarn and weave all ends,

FLOWERS

Round 1.  With your Baby pink yarn, make a magic ring. 8 sc into the ring. Close the ring tightly and join with a sl st into first stitch.

Round 2.  Ch 2, 4 dc in first st, drop your yarn and insert it again into the top of your starting ch 2. Then take the yarn that you drop and make a slip stitch. This will make like a popcorn stitch, then chain 1. *5 dc into the next st, drop your yarn again, insert your hook into the first dc that you made, take the yarn that you just drop and make a sl st ( another popcorn stitch made), then ch 1. * Repeat this pattern in all stitches. You will end up with 8 petals (popcorn stitch) for the flower. Join with a sl st on top of your beginning chains. Break yarn and weave all ends. leave along tail for sewing later.

Then attached first the flower to your shoes by sewing it using your yarn and tapestry needle. Then attached your buttons. I used a glue gun and stick because my buttons don't have holes in it.

This shoes fits me, I am size 8... more or less 8 inches. You can adjust the size of the shoes by reducing or adding more rows from Row 13- 25.

I took this pictures at the beach. It is just in front of our house. It is so sunny here in the Philippines, I am not a fan of summer specially this summer. It is freaking hot and humid. I don't understand the heat this days, it's killing me.. hahaha. But it is good for my pictures to be taken outside because of the amount of light.  Here are some pictures I took with this shoes at the beach.

So that's it. I hope you will give it a try and enjoy making this shoes.

Yellow Ribbon Headband

This Ribbon Headband is quick to make and suites your little angel very well. A cute addition to her attire this spring/summer time. Hope you will all love this pattern and give it a try.

Materials

  • Cotton Yarn ( Red Heart Creme De la Creme in Yellow)
  • Crochet Hook G/4.0mm
  • Tapestry needle
  • Glue Stick
  • Glue Gun
  • Plastic Headband (black)
Stitches Used

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • sl st - slip stitch
Instructions

Row 1. Ch 13, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and all the chains. Ch 1 and turn. (12 sc)

Row 2. Sc in first st and all the st across. Ch 1 and turn (12 sc)

Row 3-60. Repeat Row 2 until row 60.

Then join both ends of the ribbon with a sl st. Weave all end and leave a long tail about 2 to 3 feet for wrapping around the middle of the ribbon together. Then fold the joined ribbon into half, making sure that the joining part is in the center. Use your remaining tail to wrap around the middle of the ribbon. Used all of the tail. And fasten off.

With your glue stick and glue gun attached the ribbon into the side of the headband.

That's how easy it is. You can actually make it any color. But this yellow one suites very well with my niece.  So I hope your little princess will also love this headband.
