Rainbow Hearts Socks

It's finally out! Wow making a pattern for this socks is no joke. I'm glad I am able to post this one before Valentine's Day ends.

These socks fit my size 8 feet and I think it still gonna fit up to size 10, it does stretch and it's a little bit lose on me but still, I am okay with this for my feet.

Materials

  • Red Heart with Love (Violet, Blue Hawaii, EverGreen{or RH SS Paddy Green}, Dafodill, Mango, Holly Berry, RH SS Light Pink) 350-370 yards
  • I/5.5mm Crochet Hook
  • Stitch Markers
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors

Terms Used

  • CH(s) – Chain(s)
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • DC – Double Crochet
  • FPDC – Front Post Double Crochet
  • BLO – Back Loops Only

Gauge
14 rounds x 15sc

Notes

  • No joining in the first stitch at the end of each round since we will be working in rounds except the ribbing and the sock's heel. Use your stitch markers to mark the end or the beginning of your rounds.
Clarification:
  • In Round, 5-36 do 30 SC only. Not 33 as shown in the diagram. Only 30 SC. Sorry for the confusion.

Size - Women's size 8-10

Instructions

R1. Make Magic Ring, and into the ring make 6 SC. Continue to work in rounds and do not join in the first stitch. (6SC)

R2.  2 SC in each stitch. (12 SC)

R3.  SC in the first stitch. 2 SC in next. * 1 SC in the next stitch, 2 SC in next* Repeat all the way around until the end. (18 SC)

R4.  SC in the first 2 stitches, 2 SC in next. * 1 SC in the next 2 stitches, 2 SC in next * Repeat all the way around until the end. (24 SC)

R5.  SC in the first 3 stitches, 2 SC in next. * 1 SC in the next 3 stitches, 2 SC in next * Repeat all the way around until the end. (30 SC)

Starting Round 6, used the heart diagram below. First, use the Violet Color, then Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink and repeat the colors if needed.

R6- R26.  1 SC in each stitch around. (30 SC)

At the end of Round 26, CH 1 and turn. We will be working on the heel of the socks and we are working in rows this time starting Rows/Round 27.

R27-R36.  1 SC in each of the next 20 stitches, CH 1 and turn (20 SC)

R37.  SC in the first 8 stitches, SC DEC, SC DEC and SC in the next 8 stitches, CH 1 and turn. (18 SC)

R38. SC in the first 8 stitches. Fold the heel in half and join the ends with a slip stitch on the wrong side of the socks.

R39. SC in each stitch all the way around, including the 10 unworked stitches of Round 26. You would usually end up with 36 sc in this round, if not, then add a stitch or two as you go along to make it 36 SC. Do not join still, work in rounds. (36 SC)

R40.SC in each stitch around. (36SC)

R41- R64. SC each and use the hearts diagram 36SC
At the end of R 64, slip stitch into the first stitch of that round. Then we will make the ribbing.

R65. CH2, DC in the first 8 stitches, 2 DC in next. * DC in the next 8 stitches, 2 DC in next* Repeat all the way around and join with a slip stitch in first DC.  40 DC

R66- R70.  DC in the first stitch. * FPDC in the next 3 Stitches, DC in next stitch. * Repeat all the way around and join with a slip stitch in the first stitch. 40 stitches 10 sets of 3 FDC.

R71.  Slip stitch in the BLO. Fasten off and Make the other socks using the same pattern. Weave in all ends and Enjoy your new socks!!

  1. Hey, love the socks! Starting them now! Quick question...in row 5 there are 30 sc, but the grid pattern is 33 stitches per row. Should I add 3 sc in row 5, or just follow the grid, with each row ending 3 stitches into the next row? Thanks!

    1. Hi, thank you for being here... I'm sorry for the confusion. I made some notes in there for clarifications. Just do 30 SC's.
