Slouchy Bunny Mesh Hat

It's a mesh hat with two (2) Bunnies on it. Can you see the bunny in it? It works up so easily so you can make this one in a day and be ready for the Easter. You can wear it while egg hunting...

I used 4.00mm Crochet hook and a #3 yarn. It's smaller than our regular #4 yarn that we/I usually used. That is why there are more stitches on this hat compared to the precious hats I made.

Materials:

  • Gantsilyo Guro Milk Cotton Medium (#3) yarn
  • G/4.00mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors

Terms Used:
  • CH(s) - Chain (s)
  • DC - Double Crochet
  • FPDC - Front Post Double Crochet
  • BPDC - Back Post Double Crochet
Notes:
  • Blank Square = DC and CH 1and a skipped stitch.
  • Shaded Square = 2 DC
  • Remember to always start with a DC then CH1 for a Blank Square.  So when you change from a SHADED SQUARE to a BLANK SQUARE you will have 2DC (shaded square) 1dc and CH1 (blank square). That means you will have 3 DC and a CH1 for a Shaded square followed by a blank square.
  • Also, don't forget the skipped stitch in a blank square. Example for 2 Blank Square is, " DC, CH1, skip a stitch, DC, CH1 and skip a stitch".
  • Beginning CH 2 is not counted as a stitch.
Gauge

  • 9 rounds by 18 Double Crochet = 4-inch square

  • Shaded Square = 2 DC

R30. CH2, DC in each stitch all the way around until the end. Join with a slip stitch in the first stitch. (96 DC)

R31-32. CH2, *FPDC, BPDC* repeat until the end. Join with a slip stitch in the first stitch. (96 Post Stitches)

R33. Slip stitch in each stitch all the way around until the end on the BLO. Don't tighten your slip stitches too much so it will fit in your head snuggly. (96 slip stitches).

Fasten off and weave in all ends.

I made another graph. Same instructions, same bunny but the graph had a little difference. So that means that from Round 9-30 it will be different. Plus it is longer by 2 round, I made the red hat out of it. Please refer to the graph and the hat below.

R32. CH2, DC in each stitch all the way around until the end. Join with a slip stitch in the first stitch. (96 DC)

R33-34. CH2, *FPDC, BPDC* repeat until the end. Join with a slip stitch in the first stitch. (96 Post Stitches)

R35. Slip stitch in each stitch all the way around until the end on the BLO. Don't tighten your slip stitches too much so it will fit in your head snuggly. (96 slip stitches).

I love how the possibilities of a Mesh hat is almost infinite... I can put almost any character or design for it to be a different hat.

It was sure a fun project to make, and I am happy I am able to share the pattern to everyone.
