Simple DIY Christmas Decors

As I have posted before, we don't usually decorate much on Christmas. We celebrate the essence of giving and love to everyone, but we don't actually believe that Jesus was born on December 25.  This is what believe...
" The twenty-fifth of December is supposed to be the day of the birth of Jesus Christ, and its observance has become customary and popular. But yet there is no certainty that we are keeping the veritable day of our Saviour's birth. History gives us no certain assurance of this. The Bible does not give us the precise time. Had the Lord deemed this knowledge essential to our salvation, He would have spoken through His prophets and apostles, that we might know all about the matter. But the silence of the Scriptures upon this point evidences to us that it is hidden from us for the wisest purposes. ""In His wisdom, the Lord concealed the place where He buried Moses. God buried him, and God resurrected him and took him to heaven. This secrecy was to prevent idolatry. He against whom they rebelled while he was in active service, whom they provoked almost beyond human endurance, was almost worshiped as God after his separation from them by death. For the very same purpose He has concealed the precise day of Christ's birth, that the day should not receive the honor that should be given to Christ as the Redeemer of the world—one to be received, to be trusted, to be relied on as He who could save to the uttermost all who come unto Him. The soul's adoration should be given to Jesus as the Son of the infinite God" Ellen White.Adventist Home 477.2, 3

But it cannot be ignored of course. And we cannot just ignore the essence of Christmas. It is such a wonderful time "to turn our minds and offerings, especially our children, to God and His cause and the salvation of souls."  I don't want any debate or argument about this, I just want to share with you what we believe. But most of all we don't believe in Santa.

When it comes to Christmas Decor, we cannot ignore the Christmas Lights! The kids are so fascinated with different colors flashing. They love it very much.

In this post, I'm gonna share a simple DIY decor that involves yarn of course. It's just a 3 simple steps. 1,2,3 and you're done!

Materials
  • Yarns - in many colors like red, green, white...
  • Pompom maker - I used the smallest
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
Instructions

  1. Get your yarns and let's start making pompoms. Wrap it around your pompom maker just about 40 wraps each side. I did not make the pompoms too fluffy for me it looks prettier when decorated like that. But if I'm adding them to my hats, I would definitely make it as fluffy as I can. Refer to the picture below.

You can make as many pompoms as you like. it depends on how wide the place you are going to put them. Tie the longs strings like in the picture above. This will make it easy to attach them later to your chains.
  2. Then let's make your string of chains. Chain one and attached a pompom, then Chain 12 and attached another pompom. So basically in every Chain 12, you are going to attach a pompom. Refer to the picture below.

  3. Weave both ends of your Chains. Then cut all the excess strings of your pompoms to make your decor clean.
And that's it, you are ready to decorate them where ever you want. It's pretty for them to go with the Christmas lights. You can also put them on your Christmas Trees, on the window or on your doors. The kids really love them with the lights.

It's easy and fast to make plus it's not expensive. If you are looking for a last minute decoration you want to make on your own and do not spend much, this one would be the right choice.

That's it, I hope you all learn something and enjoy this post. If you have any questions, comments or suggestion just leave a message in the comment box and I will gladly answer them
